Hello you guys, all of two probable people who read this blog! I haven't updated this in a REALLY long time, so I thought I'd do this in several parts.
Part 1: My trip to Florence, Italy.
Part 2: Budapest Zoo
Part 3: Kaposvar, Hungary
Part 4: School Update
First, during the October break, I went on a class trip to Florence Italy for four days. It was amazing because I felt like in was in Assassin's Creed the whole time (as this game takes place in various cities throughout Italy, but your character's hometown is Florence). Walking among the historic buildings was kinda deja-vu-esque because, in the game, I had climbed those same buildings, fought guards on those buildings, fallen off and died on, next to, behind, or in the area around those buildings, and generally had spent a ton of time with the buildings. I also had found it fairly easy to navigate the city by the buildings because the game had already taught me where each building is in relation to another, so all I had to do was look at the closest building and see where I was! It was pretty awesome. Here are some pictures to chronicle the trip.
We had to take a bus there, and the 15-hour ride turned into something closer to 18 hours as we got stuck in a traffic jam about 20km outside of Florence for over 2.5 hours. A fuel truck had overturned around a corner inside of our side of a tunnel, so the road workers had to cut a "door" in the barrier between highway directions, redirect traffic, and let us through.

We got there finally, but because we spent so much time in traffic, we had to start our program almost immediately. Here are some noteworthy events!

On the Ponte Vecchio--the famous, old bridge where meat sellers and butchers used to sell meat before they were kicked off a long time ago. Now it's an expensive hub for jewelry and leather sales for tourists. |

Typical street. |
Overall, it was a great trip and this measly blog post does NOT do it justice. To be honest, we were so tired from the program everyday that I eventually just lost the ability to absorb any new information. I was so tired (but it was fun nonetheless).
